Tips cable management:
Below we will explain how these three goals can be reached and we will give you tips how to apply this in real life business applications.
Cabling is a broad term, in this article we focused on network cabling (like UTP cables and CAT5E/CAT6/CAT6A cables) fiber optic cables and power cables.

Organise and guide cables in bundles
Network cables and fiber cables from a switch or server are often bundeled before bridging a distance of a few meters. This could be in a network cabinet or server room within an office network or datacenter. Cables in a server cabinet or networking cabinet are bundeled by cable management panels and cable ties (also called zip tie and zap strap).
Cable mangement panel
For optimal cable management we advise a cable management panel for every third patch panel. For vertical guidance you can use cable routers / shunting or a combination of cable ties and cable tie holders like pictured beside.Seperate cables per application
Within a network you will find cables suitable for different applications. In a data network this can be telephony, data and backup cabling. In the power supply different cabling is used for the main data source and the backup supply which typically come from the UPS. To make a clear distinction between these applications it's best to use coloured cabling. By using coloured cables it is possible to distinguish different applications at once.
Identify individual ports
In a data network you want to know which port of the switch is connected to which desk. This can be achieved by labeling individual cables and record what cable is used by what connection. Most common is usage of alfanumerical series with the same label on both sides. There are different solutions for this:Different solutions for this:
